The coffee brewing competition is divided into “designated brewing” and “optional brewing”. In ‘designated brewing’, all contestants will use the same batch of coffee beans, grinder, and brewing water, and the equipment can be chosen by themselves. In the “self selected brewing” process, contestants need to showcase their creativity and express their ideas with a performance oriented approach. In two stages, the comprehensive brewing ability of the contestants is tested from multiple dimensions, making it a coffee competition that combines performance and professionalism. Since Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets International Exhibition Co., Ltd. introduced the World Coffee Brewing Competition (WBrC) to China in 2015, we have witnessed the enthusiastic participation of countless outstanding baristas who showcase the infinite charm of coffee with their unique brewing techniques.
